It's easy to find information about Marine Corps Boot Camp. It's also easy to find information on the Marine Corps lifestyle. Something we don't often run into is information or guidance on the process, the procedures, and the advantages of joining itself.
The first thing anyone needs when walking into the Marine Corps Recruiter's office is confidence. One will learn quickly that without confidence you will lose out on a lot of opportunities. The recruiter's entire purpose is to get you to join for at the lowest cost to him and the Government. The recruiter won't tell you about the financial bonuses you are qualified for, so it's up to you as an individual to know when to take advantage of your outstanding talents.
This brings me to my second point. If you score extremely well on the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery, or ASVAB, you are qualified for monetary benefits. For thing like college training, knowing a second language, or simply telling the recruiter he's not offering you enough to give you the desire to join, then you can receive financial bonuses! When you walk into that office knowing exactly what you want and what you're going to do, you don't give the recruiter a lot of room to con you into signing papers when you're not entirely aware of what's written on them.
Finally, take advantage of everything you know. The Marine Corps wants you to join them more than you want to join them. Make them believe you're worth every penny and take advantage of the fact that you can receive extra financial benefits for being confident, intelligent, well-trained, and fit. You are the most important aspect of the entire force, because without the human bodies to power the machines, processes, and structures there wouldn't be a fighting force at all.
That being said, put on your mean face and don't let the Marine Corps' recruiter bully you into signing anything until you've gotten everything you deserve. Make a few demands if you don't think you're getting recognition for your outstanding attributes. We make the Marine Corps what it is, and that's something they're willing to give you some big bonuses for!
